The Problem
You are a researcher on the enterprise. Your team has discovered a world that might be fit for human colonization. Your task is to identify and categorize the food sources found on this planet, and determine if the food is compatible with food found on Earth.

Lesson A Problem
A Jr. Researcher assigned to your team has brought samples of vegetation and other animals killed while surveying the planet. One of the first discoveries you and your research team found are elements similar to those found on earth. Compare the elements found in the biological molecules found on earth with samples collected.

Discussion Questions
  1. What are the types of elements found on the periodic table?
  2. How are protons, neutrons and electrons listed on the periodic table?
  3. Why are all biological molecules composed of carbon?
